The American Speed Association® Midwest Tour announces it's biggest year of incentives yet with the announcement of the 2012 Champions Awards.
"Tim and I made up our mind after the season ended that we were going to take things to the next level. After having our most successful season in five years, it is now time to put the ASA Midwest Tour on the map and provide some major incentives to draw new rookies to our series and provide one well earned champion a large amount of awards in 2012. I don't know anywhere in the country at this level of racing that you can earn these types of awards and we are proud of that accomplishment," said ASAMT VP, Steve Einhaus.
The 2012 ASA Midwest Tour Champion will receive a free lease on a B&B Racing Engines Chevy 9:1 or Chevy Ace motor to be used during the 2013 racing season. Bruce Mueller, owner of B&B Racing engines, has been a huge part of the ASAMT and continues to have success, winning engine builder of the year 4 out of 5 years.
"We are very proud to have won the engine builder of the year 4 out of 5 years running in the ASAMT. My vision has always been to "help" the racers do what they need to do to keep racing and to keep the sport alive. I have to applaud the ASAMT for always finding unique "out of the box" ideas to create these huge bonuses for the drivers," Mueller said.
"When Tim Olson approached me at Oktoberfest, I knew that this was what I wanted to do. I'm sure it is going to be an exciting year and next October one Champion is going to have themselves quite a prize to look forward to in 2013," added Mueller.
In addition, SCAG Power Equipment will donate a Freedom Z Lawn Mower with a 48" or 52" deck valued at $7500 to the Champion. "SCAG is very excited about our future with the ASA Midwest Tour. Our relationship with the series has been very successful from top to bottom. The brand awareness for the SCAG name is huge for our dealer network as they continue to increase sales through a referral network directly related to the ASAMT. We felt we should go big and offer the 2012 champion a prize worth remembering for the rest of their life with a new Freedom Z Lawn Mower that will allow them to get the grass cut quicker so they can get back to the race shop," said Marketing Director Chris Frame.
In addition, Schaeffers Racing Oil will supply free racing oil to the Champion for all ASAMT races in 2013. The Champion will also receive $6000 in cash and additional contingency prizes worth over $3000.
