51's Offices Closed Until January 2nd

The 2011 racing season is just about complete, minus a few New Year's weekend shows around the country.  The 2012 season will begin in mere days with the Red Eye 100 at New Smyrna on January 7th and Lanier's Ice Cold Shriner's Bowl on January 8th.

So since we've got just a few days left around here at Speed51.com to get caught up on a great 2011 year and a busy new season coming up, we're going to close down the 51 offices until Monday, January 2nd.

Don't fret, race fans.  We'll still post some information to 51 until then.  If any big news breaks in the short track world, you can be sure you'll find it right here on Speed51.com.  New stories will also be posted just about every day.  But, we're going to take some time to spend with our families and prepare for a huge 2012 season full of cool new stuff for short track fans all over North America.

Also, the Speed 51 Facebook page, presented by Five Star Race Car Bodies, will still be the hub of information over the next few days, as well as serve as the home for nominating favorites in several categories of our annual 51 Awards, which will be announced in January.  Several categories will be up for nominations in the coming days, so be sure to "Like" the page and nominate your favorites.

Also, our Speed51.com Twitter, @speed51dotcom, will also have some news and information.

While the Red Eye 100 and Shriner's Bowl kick off the 2011 racing season, many Super Late Model fans are eagerly anticipating SPEEDFEST 2012, January 27th through 29th at Lanier National Speedway.  Check out the latest information on that event here: SPEEDFEST Race Information

And finally, if you still have the racing itch that you just can't scratch, listen to the re-broadcasts of the Snowball Derby and the Snowflake 100, held in early December at Pensacola's Five Flags Speedway.
